Role Overview

Cloud Application Operations Engineer responsible for supporting and optimizing cloud-native applications running on IBM Cloud. The role focuses on deployment automation, infrastructure management, CI/CD pipeline optimization, cloud observability, and operational excellence to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable production services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated deployment processes for IBM Cloud environments
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve software delivery and operational efficiency
• Support the implementation of new platform features and ensure reliable production deployments
• Build and maintain cloud operations tooling for monitoring, observability, and incident management
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform
• Monitor application health, availability, and SLA compliance across cloud environments
• Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous service improvement
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and cloud service management teams to deliver reliable cloud services
• Document operational procedures and promote automation best practices

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience supporting public cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with IBM Cloud or other major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of deployment automation and cloud operations
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Understanding of cloud monitoring, observability, and incident management
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams

• Experience developing cloud operations and observability tooling
• Knowledge of SLA monitoring and operational reporting
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise cloud platforms
