Role Overview:

We are looking for an SAP Data Migration Consultant / Developer to support SAP data migration initiatives across enterprise environments.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with SAP data migration and development, including standard SAP migration tools such as LTMC, SAP Data Migration Cockpit (DMC), LSMW and related SAP transactions.

The successful candidate will combine functional understanding of SAP data migration with strong technical capabilities, including ABAP, IDoc, BAPI, ETL processes and SAP data models. The candidate should be able to configure and adapt migration tools to meet project-specific data loading requirements and understand complex data dependencies and flows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, prepare and execute SAP data migration activities.
• Analyse migration requirements and translate them into appropriate technical migration solutions.
• Work with standard SAP data migration tools, including:
• • LTMC
  • SAP Data Migration Cockpit (DMC)
  • LSMW
  • Relevant SAP migration transactions
• Configure and adjust SAP migration/loading tools according to project requirements.
• Analyse source and target data structures and identify data transformation requirements.
• Understand SAP data models, dependencies and end-to-end data flows.
• Develop and maintain migration programs and supporting technical solutions.
• Use ABAP for migration-related development, enhancements and data processing.
• Work with IDocs and BAPIs for data migration and integration scenarios.
• Analyse and troubleshoot migration errors and data loading issues.
• Design and support data extraction, transformation and loading processes.
• Ensure migrated data is complete, consistent and aligned with target SAP structures.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation following migration activities.
• Support migration testing, mock loads, cutover activities and post-migration validation.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, developers and data teams.
• Document migration processes, technical configurations, mappings and dependencies.
• Support continuous improvement and optimisation of migration processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

SAP Data Migration

• Professional experience in SAP Data Migration and SAP development.
• Strong practical experience with standard SAP data migration tools, including:
• • LTMC
  • SAP Data Migration Cockpit (DMC)
  • LSMW
  • Relevant SAP migration transactions
• Strong technical understanding of how SAP migration tools work.
• Ability to configure, adjust and customise loading tools according to business and technical requirements.
• Experience with migration objects, mappings, transformations and data validation.
• Experience supporting data migration projects through testing and production/cutover phases.

SAP Technical Development

• Good hands-on experience with SAP ABAP.
• Experience working with IDocs.
• Experience working with BAPIs.
• Ability to develop or adjust technical solutions supporting data migration.
• Understanding of SAP transactions and technical application processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical migration issues at application and data level.

Data Models & Integration

• Strong understanding of SAP data models.
• Ability to understand relationships and dependencies between SAP data objects.
• Good understanding of end-to-end data flows.
• Experience identifying data dependencies and their impact on migration sequencing.
• Understanding of SAP integration concepts and interfaces.

ETL

• Strong understanding of ETL processes.
• Experience with data extraction, transformation and loading.
• Ability to analyse source-to-target mappings.
• Understanding of data cleansing, transformation and validation.
• Experience troubleshooting ETL and data loading failures.

Data Migration Activities:

The candidate should be comfortable working across the typical migration lifecycle:

Data Analysis

• Analyse source data and target SAP structures.
• Identify data quality issues and dependencies.

Mapping & Transformation

• Define source-to-target mappings.
• Configure transformation and conversion rules.

Data Loading

• Configure and execute SAP migration tools.
• Perform mock loads and migration cycles.
• Analyse and resolve loading errors.

Validation

• Reconcile migrated data.
• Validate completeness and consistency.
• Support business validation and sign-off.

Cutover

• Support final migration activities.
• Execute agreed migration procedures.
• Provide post-migration troubleshooting and support.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA data migration.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit.
• Experience with SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration projects.
• Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology.
• Experience with large-scale SAP transformation programmes.
• Experience with SAP Master Data migration.
• Experience with data migration automation.
• Knowledge of additional SAP integration technologies.
• Experience with SAP data migration testing and reconciliation tools.

Language Requirements:

• Fluent English – mandatory.
• Ability to communicate effectively with international technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.

• Citizenship of an EU country is mandatory.
• Candidates must not hold dual citizenship.
• Hungarian citizenship is not eligible for this requirement.

The key selection criteria are hands-on experience with SAP migration tools, the ability to technically configure and adjust migration/loading solutions, and a solid understanding of ABAP, IDocs, BAPIs, SAP data models and ETL processes.

Candidates should be able to work effectively with functional and technical teams and communicate clearly in English.
