Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP Development Coordination Lead to coordinate development activities across multiple workstreams, delivery teams, and external suppliers.

The role combines strong SAP technical knowledge with development coordination and delivery governance. The successful candidate will manage development backlogs and dependencies, review technical specifications, coordinate testing and defect resolution, and oversee SAP transports and releases.

A broad understanding of SAP interfaces, enhancements, workflows, forms, and reports is essential to effectively coordinate technical development activities and ensure consistent delivery across the SAP landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate SAP development activities across multiple workstreams, teams, and suppliers.
• Manage and prioritise development backlogs, ensuring activities are properly planned and tracked.
• Identify, manage, and communicate dependencies between development teams, workstreams, applications, and suppliers.
• Review technical specifications and ensure that proposed solutions meet agreed technical and architectural standards.
• Coordinate development delivery from requirements and technical design through testing, deployment, and release.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to SAP developers and external delivery partners.
• Coordinate system integration testing, regression testing, UAT support, and defect resolution.
• Monitor development progress, identify risks and issues, and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate SAP transport management across development, test and production environments.
• Oversee release preparation and ensure that all required developments and transports are included and properly sequenced.
• Coordinate technical activities related to production releases and post-release validation.
• Ensure development documentation and technical specifications are complete and maintained.
• Review development deliverables and support adherence to coding, development, testing, and release standards.
• Facilitate communication between business stakeholders, functional teams, technical teams, SAP developers, and suppliers.
• Support root-cause analysis and resolution of complex technical issues.
• Ensure effective handover between development, testing, release, and support teams.

• Ability to coordinate defect triage and resolution across development teams and suppliers.
• Experience tracking defects through resolution and ensuring appropriate retesting.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between development, testing and release activities.

Transport & Release Management

• Good understanding of SAP transport management and environment promotion.
• Experience coordinating transports across development, QA/test and production environments.
• Experience supporting SAP release planning and execution.
• Ability to identify transport dependencies and sequencing requirements.
• Experience coordinating production releases and post-release activities.

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Seniority Expectations – Master

At Master level, the consultant is expected to:

• Act as the central technical coordination point for SAP development activities across multiple workstreams and suppliers.
• Independently manage development backlogs, priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Review and challenge technical specifications and proposed development solutions.
• Provide sufficient SAP technical expertise to assess interfaces, enhancements, workflows, forms, reports, and integration dependencies.
• Coordinate testing, defect resolution, transports, and releases across multiple delivery teams.
• Drive technical issues to resolution and ensure clear ownership across suppliers and internal teams.
• Ensure development and release activities follow established SAP standards and governance.
• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, architects, functional leads, developers, testers, and suppliers.
• Maintain end-to-end visibility of development delivery and proactively identify risks that could impact releases.
• Provide technical leadership without necessarily being the primary hands-on developer.
