Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior SAP ABAP Developer with strong expertise in Logistics Execution and a proven ability to develop and support complex SAP solutions.

The ideal candidate will have deep ABAP development experience, preferably within SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and/or SAP Transportation Management (TM) environments, combined with knowledge of SAP embedded analytics and EDI integrations.

The role will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting SAP solutions while ensuring alignment with SAP development standards, performance requirements, and integration principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SAP ABAP applications and custom solutions.
• Develop ABAP solutions supporting Logistics Execution processes.
• Work closely with functional teams to translate business and logistics requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Develop and enhance SAP solutions related to SAP EWM and/or SAP TM.
• Support integrations between SAP and external systems using appropriate integration and EDI technologies.
• Develop and maintain EDI interfaces, including message processing, mappings, monitoring, and error handling.
• Work with SAP IDocs, BAPIs, APIs, and other integration mechanisms where applicable.
• Develop solutions supporting SAP embedded analytics, including analytical queries, CDS views, and related ABAP-based analytical capabilities.
• Analyze existing custom developments and identify opportunities for optimization, simplification, and performance improvement.
• Perform technical analysis, debugging, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex SAP issues.
• Ensure that developments follow SAP coding standards, development guidelines, and quality requirements.
• Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
• Collaborate with SAP functional consultants, integration specialists, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for developments, interfaces, and custom solutions.
• Support system upgrades, enhancements, and SAP transformation initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to other developers and project team members.

Required Skills & Experience

SAP ABAP

• Extensive professional experience with SAP ABAP development.
• Strong knowledge of ABAP Objects / Object-Oriented ABAP.
• Experience developing complex custom solutions and enhancements in SAP.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of SAP development lifecycle, transports, testing, and deployment.
• Ability to produce clean, maintainable, and performant ABAP code.

Logistics Execution

• Strong understanding of SAP Logistics Execution processes and technical requirements.
• Proven experience developing ABAP solutions for logistics-related business processes.
• SAP EWM and/or SAP TM experience is highly preferred, with EWM being particularly valuable.
• Understanding of logistics master data, warehouse/transport processes, and their integration with core SAP processes.

Embedded Analytics

• Practical experience with SAP embedded analytics.
• Knowledge of ABAP CDS Views and analytical queries.
• Ability to support reporting and analytical requirements through SAP's embedded analytics capabilities.
• Understanding of performance considerations for analytical developments.

EDI & Integration

• Strong understanding of SAP EDI integration.
• Experience with IDocs, including configuration-related technical aspects, monitoring, troubleshooting, and custom development.
• Experience with EDI message types, mappings, partner interfaces, and error handling.
• Knowledge of APIs, BAPIs, web services, or other SAP integration mechanisms is an advantage.
• Ability to analyze end-to-end integration flows between SAP and external systems.

Preferred Skills

• SAP EWM development experience.

• Experience with S/4HANA environments.
• Strong knowledge of modern ABAP development approaches.
• Experience with ABAP CDS, AMDP, and HANA-optimized development.
