Role Overview

We are looking for a Junior SAP ABAP Developer to support SAP development and programming activities, with a primary focus on WRICEF objects for Plant Maintenance (PM) and additional development requirements in FICO and MM.

The role is suitable for a candidate with a solid foundation in SAP development who is looking to further develop their technical skills within an SAP project environment. Experience with modern SAP development technologies is expected, while web development experience is considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and support SAP WRICEF objects based on functional and technical specifications.
  • Support development activities primarily related to SAP Plant Maintenance (PM).
  • Contribute to SAP development activities for FICO and MM processes.
  • Participate in the development of:
    • Reports
    • Workflows
    • Interfaces
    • Conversions
    • Enhancements
    • Forms
    • Other custom SAP objects
  • Analyze technical requirements and contribute to the implementation of appropriate SAP solutions.
  • Perform unit testing and support integration testing of developed objects.
  • Assist with debugging and troubleshooting of SAP development issues.
  • Follow established SAP development standards, coding guidelines, and project methodologies.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with SAP functional consultants and other technical team members.
  • Support deployment and post-implementation activities.
  • Gain practical experience with modern SAP development and programming technologies.

Required Skills & Experience

SAP Development

  • Foundational knowledge of SAP ABAP development/programming.
  • Understanding of SAP development concepts and programming principles.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP WRICEF development.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications and implement development tasks under appropriate guidance.
  • Basic understanding of debugging, testing, and SAP development lifecycle processes.

SAP Functional Areas

  • Exposure to SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge or exposure to SAP FICO.
  • Basic knowledge or exposure to SAP MM.
  • Willingness to work across multiple SAP functional areas.

Modern SAP Development

  • Experience or exposure to SAP projects using modern development/programming technologies.
  • Willingness to learn and apply modern SAP development approaches.
  • Web development experience is a plus.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Knowledge of ABAP Objects / Object-Oriented ABAP.
  • Exposure to CDS Views, OData, SAP Fiori/UI5, or other modern SAP technologies.
  • Basic understanding of SAP integrations and interfaces.
  • HTML5, JavaScript, or other web development experience.
  • Previous experience working in an international SAP project environment.

The candidate should be able to communicate effectively in German and English within an international SAP project environment.

Seniority Expectations – Novice

At Novice level, the candidate is expected to have a solid foundation in SAP ABAP programming and to perform development activities with guidance from more experienced developers or technical leads.

The candidate should demonstrate the ability to learn project-specific technologies and standards, understand technical specifications, develop assigned WRICEF objects, perform basic troubleshooting, and progressively take ownership of development tasks.
