Role Overview

We are looking for a Master-level SAP FICO Functional Test Consultant with strong knowledge of SAP Finance and Controlling business processes and hands-on experience in test case creation, test strategy, test coverage, and test data design.

The consultant will be responsible for translating SAP FICO business processes and requirements into comprehensive test scenarios, with particular focus on MIRO and SAP Fiori applications. The role requires strong functional understanding of SAP FICO and the ability to ensure that testing provides appropriate end-to-end coverage of business-critical processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze SAP FICO business processes and requirements to define appropriate test scenarios.
• Create detailed functional test cases covering SAP Finance and Controlling processes.
• Define and maintain test scenarios, test conditions, expected results, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure adequate test coverage across FICO business processes and related integrations.
• Contribute to the overall test strategy and test planning from an SAP FICO functional perspective.
• Identify critical business-process paths and ensure they are appropriately represented in the test scope.
• Design and prepare appropriate test data for SAP FICO test scenarios.
• Support execution of functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests.
• Validate SAP FICO processes against expected business outcomes.
• Design and execute test scenarios involving MIRO (Logistics Invoice Verification).
• Test and validate relevant SAP Fiori applications supporting Finance processes.
• Analyze test results and identify functional defects.
• Support defect investigation, documentation, prioritization, and retesting.
• Collaborate with SAP FICO functional consultants, business analysts, developers, testers, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, business processes, test scenarios, and test results.
• Identify gaps in test coverage and recommend additional scenarios.
• Contribute to test documentation, execution reporting, and test status communication.
• Support business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) where required.

Required Skills & Experience

SAP FICO

• Extensive experience with SAP FICO.
• Strong understanding of SAP Finance and Controlling business processes.
• Ability to translate business-process requirements into comprehensive functional test scenarios.
• Strong understanding of the integration between FICO and other SAP modules.
• Practical experience with MIRO and related procure-to-pay processes.
• Experience with SAP Fiori applications relevant to Finance processes.

Test Case Creation & Coverage

• Strong experience in SAP functional test case creation.
• Ability to develop detailed test scenarios covering positive, negative, boundary, and exception cases.
• Strong understanding of test strategy and test coverage.
• Ability to identify functional and integration dependencies when defining test scope.
• Experience ensuring end-to-end coverage of business-critical processes.

Test Data Design

• Strong experience in test data design and preparation.
• Ability to define the master data, transactional data, organizational structures, and prerequisites required for FICO test scenarios.
• Experience identifying data dependencies between SAP modules and business processes.
• Ability to create realistic and reusable test datasets.

Testing Responsibilities

The consultant should be comfortable working across the complete functional testing lifecycle:

Requirement Analysis → Test Strategy → Test Scenario Design → Test Case Creation → Test Data Design → Test Execution → Defect Analysis → Retesting → Test Closure

The role requires particular attention to ensuring that test scenarios accurately represent real-world SAP FICO business processes, rather than focusing solely on technical validation.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance.
• Strong experience with SAP Fiori testing.
• Experience with SAP testing tools such as SAP Solution Manager, ALM, Jira, Xray, or equivalent.
• Experience with UAT coordination and business-user testing.
• Knowledge of SAP Finance integration with MM, SD, and other modules.
• Experience with automated testing approaches is an advantage.
• SAP FICO certification is a plus.

The successful candidate should demonstrate Master-level SAP FICO expertise combined with strong functional testing capabilities.

The candidate is expected to independently understand complex FICO business processes, determine appropriate test coverage, design comprehensive test cases and test data, and identify functional gaps or risks.

The consultant should be able to challenge insufficient test coverage, advise project stakeholders on testing priorities, and provide functional leadership across SAP FICO testing activities.
